These are exciting times embracing new technology in a socially distanced world during the 2020 Pandemic... I've been a bit slow to join in the remote photoshoot revolution (if there is one!) AKA FaceTime photoshoot, as I didn't have an iPhone, and for this type of photoshoot both myself, and my client need one. Finally with an iPhone in my hands, and a willing participant, my very talented artist friend, Laura Roycroft from Home is Where the ART is, it was time to dive in. I
I had already worked with Vivu Journeys shooting their launch party for them at World Travel Market which you can see here. And they asked me to shoot their international team for their website. These pictures are from three shoots covering their London, Lisbon and Hanoi teams. The brief was simple - colourful, smily and friendly (just like the people themselves!), and to produce headshots but also full body shots to fit with the design plans for their website. Even though we
Vivu Journeys commissioned me to photograph their launch party at WTM - World Travel Market. And, it was a blast! It was also a pretty challenging narrow space with inconsistent light to work with, so it kept me on my toes both creatively and technically - but I do love a challenge! This was all created on a Big Deal photoshoot session. And why not check out the headshots they also asked me to create for their website here. #photographer #story #documentary #brand_photo_co #b
This was the second time I worked with Vanessa Hogge and it really was a pleasure to be commissioned to do a photoshoot with her for an upcoming feature for a US magazine Where Women Create. The brief was to showcase where Vanessa creates her beautiful ceramic pieces for an 8 page spread. The problem we faced was that Vanessa's actual studio in Cockpit Arts was quite small so we would be limited with what we could do with the space. As Vanessa's work is inspired by floral sha
I was commissioned to photograph the lovely crew at Simpatico PR - a small PR firm located in Soho Square, London. They wanted headshots that showed their individuality but also made them look like a professional team. The weather was a little against us, but on a dull and drizzly day we worked together to make this great set of pictures, utilising the iconic Tudor-style building in the middle of Soho Square without it being a backdrop that was exactly the same on every shot!
Fareena received a photoshoot as a gift from a mutual friend! She had been wanting to update her social media pictures for a while, and I was just the gal to help her do that. We made the most of our short time together in our Sharp Shooter photoshoot session. I threw in extra time for a quick outfit change as a birthday treat too! #photographer #story #documentary #brand_photo_co #brand_photography #branding_photography #branding_photographer #brand_photographer #personal_br
When Jenni Field contacted me to photograph her doing her thing at work I jumped at the chance. Jenni runs Redefining Communications and needed headshots as well as some storytelling behind-the-scenes pictures so she booked me for a Big Deal photoshoot session, and I became a fly on the wall of a boardroom, and in her office. Then we took to the nearby streets to make some portraits. Jenni maximised the time with some outfit changes too, which is a great way to really get val
OK so it was the smallest photo ever, but, and let's stay very focussed this - it was in 'O', The Oprah Magazine back in 2018, and that's what counts right!!! The portrait that appeared in the magazine was one I made of Vanessa Hogge during the very first photoshoot we did together. Vanessa was being interviewed by the magazine for their regular feature of "Women who make beautiful things". You can see the gallery of the second shoot we worked on together, which was commissio
Jessica booked me to shoot some headshots for the brand new business she was launching - Jessica Clifton Copywriting. She loved the colours so much she asked her web designer to incorporate them into her brand look. We worked quickly in one location in London and created great headshots as well as grabbing some shots of Jessica at work on her laptop, telling the story in a very simple way of what she does! You may have noticed that Jessica is the face of our Sharp Shooter pho
After my commission to Kiso Valley I spent three days wandering the streets of Kyoto, my second time in the city, but my first time with a camera as a photographer. It was a wonderful few days. I was booked by Kiso Ontake Tourism Office in Japan to create content for their launch campaign. It was several days of photography (and hiking!) and while it was exhausting it was an unforgettable experience. I stayed on afterwards to explore Kyoto and you can see some of the photos from there here. This was a bespoke shoot that included me travelling to Japan and shooting for several days! Pretty exciting huh? Feel free to get in touch if you have a bespoke project in mind.
Dungeness is one of the most intriguing areas in the UK. I've been there a couple of times, and have taken the usual broken boats looking dramatic on a shingle beach like everyone else! But the second time I went though I wanted to approach it differently so I tried to think about it in street photography terms rather than in landscape photography terms and this was the result. I had so much fun photographing Annie and her vintage clothing store. This wasn't a commissioned job, it was for a documentary photography course that I was doing (which I passed obvs!). Annie was very accommodating of me in her little shop - but as an experienced street photographer I find it easy to blend into the background. In the end she barely knew I was there! #photographer #story #documentary #brand_photo_co #brand_photography #branding_photography #branding_photograp
I have been freelancing for Hey Saturday since 2015, and have had the pleasure of shooting hundreds of clients. Saskia Nelson, the founder of Hey Saturday made my year in 2017 by asking me to do a quick behind-the-scenes photoshoot of her photographing world famous Magnum photographer Martin Parr for his auto-portrait series. It was a lot of fun, which culminated in lemon drizzle cake and cups of earl grey tea in his studio, along with a signed book! #photographer #story #doc
If you've read my blog post about how Brand Photo Co was born you will know that a trip to Papua New Guinea changed the course of my life, and it was meeting and photographing the fascinating and colourful tribal people of the Central Highlands that made me want to be a photographer. And these are the photos! Please do get in touch if you have a bespoke project in mind - I'm always up for an adventure into photography! Contact me here. #photographer #story #documentary #brand
